Sophia Bruce was born circa 1782 Augusta County, Virginia.1 She was the daughter of John Bruce and Elizabeth Clay.1 Sophia and James Palmer, son of Nixon Palmer and Mary Beasley, were married circa 1808 Kentucky Did these two elope? I have found no bond, license, nor return anywhere in Kentucky.1 Sophia Bruce died before 1820, Garrard County, Kentucky.1
