Researchers of any family may want to use some "easy tools" to help gather the information and separate various pieces of information into wheat and chaff.
As time goes by, I'll be adding a few items I have found to be helpful to me over the past decade or so.
First, a "quick sheet" for matching age and year with a "about" birth year. This is based on the US state censuses from 1790 to 1940.
It is in pdf format, and can be easily printed out, or used on the computer.
