"DEATH OF A FORMER MERCHANT OF RICHMOND.
Mr. John Taylor Gray died on the 24th instant at Clay Bank, his residence in Cumberland County, in the forty-eighth year of his age. He was the son of the late James Gray, and for many years a member of the firm Adie & Gray, druggists, whose place of business was in Eagle Square between Twelth and Thirteenth streets. After the war he turned his attention to agricultural pursuits. He was highly esteemed by a large circle of devoted friends."

"Died, very suddenly, August 24th, at his residence Clay Bank, in the county of Cumberland, Mr. John Taylor Gray, son of the late James Gray, in the forty-eights year of his age.
Mr Gray was for a long time prominently connected with the drug business in this city, but since the war turned his attention to farming. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn their loss."
