Passed away peacefully December 8, 2007 with his family by his side. Steve attended North Central High School and graduated in 1966. He then graduated from EWU with an economics degree. He retired from Spokane County in 2003 after 30 years as a commercial appraiser. Steve was a very generous and caring person with a very outgoing personality. He had a great sense of humor and loved to have a good time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Pam; mother, Patty Jenkins of Spokane; brother, Larry of Redmond, WA; daughters: Sarah (Steve) Sundstrom of Lynnwood, WA, Valeria Alcala of Milwaukee, OR; step-daughters: Cammy (Philip) Pruneau, Angie (Bill) Ritter, both of Spokane; nine grandchildren; niece, Hollie (Paul) Egan and nephew, Mark D'Assisi all of Redmond. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence John D'Assisi. At Steve's request there will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, December 29, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Red Lion Inn at the Park, The Skyline Ballroom, 303 W. North River Drive. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Steven will be truly missed by his family who loved him dearly.
