Joel Richardson was born circa 1795 Carroll County, Virginia. He was the son of William Richardson and Jane Bobbitt. A marriage bond was filed for Joel and Mary Evans dated on 12 February 1818 Pulaski County, Kentucky. An alternate version is "m 9 Feb 1818 to Polly Evans. consent of Andrew Evins "my daughter Poley."1
