Paris Joseph Parks was born on 12 February 1877 Wayne County, West Virginia.5 He was the son of Hurston S Parks and Clarissa Marrs.3,4 Paris and Nellie Tassel were married 3 October 1905 Lincoln County, Oregon. Paris and Mollie Bailey were married 4 June 1934 Chehalis, Washington, "Note: Uncle Paris told us when he was about 86 before he died aged 88.
Before he met Nellie Tassel, mother of Roy and Cenelia, he was in love with one of
the Palmer girls in the Valley. Her home was about 100 miles from Elk City. He
used to walk in two days, carry a pack of food, sleep under a tree and finish the
trek next day. He thought a lot of this girl and they would have married but they
were related. Paris worked for the Palmers some summers. After deaths of their
spouses late in life, Paris and his 2nd Cousin married and lived in Boise, Ida.
