     Joseph Parks was born in 1845 West Virginia.1,3 He was the son of Charles Rice Parks and Margaret Buskirk.1,2,3 Joseph and Rebecca F Dalton were married 6 September 1871. Joseph Parks died, of TB in Florida.2
     He served Joseph was a Private with the 16th Cavalry, Virginia.
on 10 Aug 1864, he was a prisoner confined at the Military Prison in Wheeling, Virginia (Atheneum).
He was 19 years old, 6'4" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, a farmer from Wayne County, Va.
He was arrested by Genl Averal at Moorefield, Va Aug 6, 1864. Sent on to Camp Chase, Aug 10, 1864 from Harpers Ferry. Captured 7 Aug 1864.
On 18 March 1865, he was transferred to Pt Lookout, Md.

When he was paroled, he was 19 years old, 6' 2 Inches tall, fair complexion, gray eyes, light hair, no whiskers.4 He was Doctor.2
