Lawrence Ivan Palmer

     Lawrence Ivan Palmer was born on 19 September 1903 Benton City, Washington. He was the son of John Balenger Palmer and Etta Settlemier. Lawrence and Corine Louise Hill were married 23 December 1931.¹ Lawrence and Hazel Bates were married 22 December 1967. Lawrence Ivan Palmer died 17 July 1987, in Yakima, Washington at age 83 years, 9 months and 28 days.
     He was Lawrence I was an educator. In 1940, he is listed as a teacher in Outlook, Yakima County, Washington. In 1953 he was principal of the school at Union Gap and on 17 April 1954, he signed a two-year contract as principal of the school in Union Gap.
The Spokane Crhonicle noted on 24 November 1954, at the time that he wa elected president of the Washington Junior High School Principals' Association, and that his son, Lawrence I, Jr., was a junior at EWCE. (Eastern Washington College of Education).

Previously, in May 1953, Lawrence and three classmates were arrested for rifling vehicles near the campus.
