Cora Palmer was born circa 1862 Millwood, Lincoln County, Missouri. She was the daughter of George Alexander Palmer and Margaret Beatie Gilmore. Cora Palmer died May 1874, "We regret to hear of the death of Cora, a young deaf and dumb daughter of Geo. A. Palmer, formerly of this county, but now of Montgomery, which took place a short time since in the asylum at Fulton. She was a remarkably intelligent child and had made rapid progress in her studies."1
