     Burton Palmer was born on 12 March 1788 Madison County, Virginia. (now Garrard County.) He was the son of Nixon Palmer and Mary Beasley.1 Burton and Rebecca Bruce, daughter of John Bruce and Elizabeth Clay, were married 10 February 1814 Garrard County, Kentucky.2

A marriage bond was executed for Burton and Rebecca Bruce dated on 9 February 1814 Garrard County, Kentucky. The bond was signed by Burton Palmore to Rebecca Bruce, Bond, John Bruce, Return, Levi Baldock.3 Burton Palmer died before 18 March 1858, Lincoln County, Missouri1,4 and may have been buried in March 1858 Palmer Cemetery, Eversmeyer farm near Silex MO TWN 50 N R1W survey 1745 sect 17., Lincoln County, Missouri; according to the following notes on Burton Palmer by Anna Palmer: Buried in Palmer Cem Eversmeyer farm. near Silex Lincoln Co Mo TWN 50 N R 1 W survey 1745 sect 17. I visited cemetery 9/84 Burton's stone was broken in half but dates legible were Born March 12 1788 died March 9 1858 69 yrs 28 days The stone for his wife Rebecca was also broken and the inscription showed wife of Barton.5 His estate was probated on 18 March 1858 Burton Palmer died intestate.

Know all men by these presents that we John M Reeds, as principal, and George A Palmer, Richiard Fentin, Jr and Daniel A Clare as securities are held and firmly bound unto the State of Missouri in the just and full sum of Thirty thousand dollars lawful money of the United States, to the payment whereof well and truly to be made we and each of us bind ourselves, our respective heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally firmly by tese presents,
Sealed and dated this 18th day of March 1858
The condition of the above bond is that if John M Reeds administrator of the Est of Burton Palmer deceased shall faithfully administer said estate account for pay and deliver, all money and property of said estate and perform all other things touching said administration required by law as the order or decree of any court having jurisdiction then the above bond to be void, otherwise to remain in full force.

Oregon are the only heirs and legal representatives of Burton Palmer late of Said County deceased, to the best of his knowledge and belief that the the decd died without a will and that He will do, (nothing further, following page as a new administration)

Know Ye that whereas Burton Palmer, late of the county of Lincoln in the said State, died intestate as it is said, having at the time of his death property in this state which may be lost, destroyed or diminished in value, if speedy care be not taken of the same to the end therefore that the said property may be collected, preserved and disposed of according to law, we do hereby appoint George A Palmer administrator of all and singular, the goods and chattels, rights and credits which were of the said Burton Palmer at the time of his death, will full power and authority to secure and dispose of said property according to law, ad collect all moneys due said deceased and in general to do and perform all other acts and things which are or here after may be required of him by law.
In testimony where of I Frances C Cake Clerk of the County Court of said county have herunto set y hand and affixed the seal of said Court at Office in Troy, in said County this 15th day of November 1859

     He owned property Burton Palmer and his sons owned over 1000 acres of property in Lincoln and Montgomery Counties through the General Land Office. The property extended from the Mississippi River to the western part of Montgomery County.
