McKEEL. Ralph Bruce R. Bruce McKeel, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died unexpectedly on October 10, 2000 at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Texas following a courageous battle with acute leukemia. His wife of twenty-five years was at his side.
Bruce was born in Portland, Oregon on April 13. 1942 to the late Ralph 0. and Gladys Palmer McKeel. He came to the Bay Area in 1965.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife Lynn E. McKeel; his children Amber Lynn Sharp (Ken) of Phoenix. Arizona, Elizabeth Anne, Janette Kathryn and Tiffany Laine of Hiilsborough; grandson Cody Sharp; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Heather and Jerry Hecker and niece and nephew Heidi and Chris Hecker all of Puyallup, Washington. The dear friends Bruce leaves behind are countless.
Bruce was a graduate of Milwaukle High School in Milwaukie. Oregon, the University of Oregon and Stanford Law School. He has always been involved with the world of finance including being President and C.E.O. of his own invesment banking firm for 14 years. For the past 5 years he was an Investment and Financial Planning Specialist with Lincoln Financial Advisors where he was a member of the Chairman's Council. He was also a member of the Olympic Club where he was President of the Seniors Golf Association, the Hillsborough Racquet Club, the Congregational Church of San Mateo where all will remember always his beautiful voice, and Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Bruce's great loves were his family, his many cherished friends, his golf and his music; and to each of these he gave his all. His kindness, generosity and compassion touched all who knew him, but perhaps what Inspired all of us the most was his wonderful spirit as he battled this disease. For Bruce there was always hope for tomorrow. He will be missed more than any words can express, but his vibrant spirit, his smile and his laughter will continue to walk with all of us who knew him and loved him
A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. October 24 2000 at the Congregational Church of San Mateo, 225 Tilton Avenue. San Mateo.
