Kenneth Monroe McKee passed peacefully at his home in Kelseyville on Sunday, at the age of 99 years.
Kenneth worked and lived all over Northern California as a young man.
He spent much of his time in Napa where his family had a home. A US Navy Veteran 1942-1945 as a Chief Machinist. Ken was a natural mechanic who spent his whole life fixing machines. After WW II he returned to Napa where he worked for Berglund Tractors, which brought him to Lake County. He had an opportunity to go into business with Lloyd Stanley Tractor Shop, which eventually became Stanley & McKee Tractor.
In 1947 he married Juanita and in 1949 started McKee Implement Company. Kenneth enjoyed the the lake and the people who lived in the county.Peoplesay he could fix any tractor. His son Russell joined him in business some years later.
Ken is survived by son Russell (Susan), sister Jessie Barbour of Sonoma and his brother Donald McKee of Napa, grandchildren Kenneth Bakke, Ross (Debrah) McKee, Ruthann Langdon, James (Jean) McKee, Timothy (Madline) McKee, Kathleen (Brian) Swaney, Tina Bishop and twenty one great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered by his family as hard a working, married man that was a giving and caring person and well respected.
Preceded in death by wife Juanita McKee. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service 11 a.m. Sunday March 7, 2010 at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary 1625 High Street, Lakeport.
