David Harris was born on 13 July 1945 Denver, Colorado.1 He was the son of Eugene Harris. David Harris died 24 May 2004, in St. Paul, Nebraska at age 58 years, 10 months and 11 days.1

David E. Harris, 58, of St. Paul, Neb., formerly of Toledo, died May 24, 2004, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul, Neb.
He was born July 13, 1945, in Denver, Colo., to Marjorie (Parks) and Eugene Harris.
He was raised in Toledo and graduated from Newport High School.
He served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, including eight years of service in Germany, two years in Korea, and two years in Vietnam, along with various assignments within the United States. He retired in 1984.
Following retirement, he attended Marylhurst College where he received a bachelor of fine arts degree with a major in photography. He owned and operated a photography studio in Portland.
He moved to Lebanon to help his mother care for his stepfather, then moved to St. Paul, Neb., to be near his sister.
He met Beverly Nelson in St. Paul, Neb., where they later married on June 4, 2002.
He was a member of the St. Paul Art Guild, the ANAC Art Club, and the Royal Coachmen Car Club.
He played the guitar and loved music, photography, and classic cars.
Survivors include his mother, Marjorie Carkhuff of Lebanon; his wife, Beverly Harris; stepchildren and their spouses, Jeff and Tammy Wissing of St. Paul, Neb., Michella Bahensky and Jill Pauley of Denton, Neb., Shirley and Gregg Schultz of Grand Island, Neb., Candy and Jon Jakubowski of Ashton, Neb., and Randy and Lynette Wissing of Lincoln, Neb; sisters and brother-in-law, Diana and Dan Edmonds of St. Paul, Neb., and Tammy Johnson of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene; and his stepfather, Walter Carkhuff.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Fred Davis was held May 27 at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul, Neb; followed by interment with graveside military honors by the Fort Riley Kansas Honor Guard and Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, Neb. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
