Alexander Trent Gray I was born on 18 May 1869 probably Claybank, Buckingham County, Virginia. Claybank straddles the Buckingham/Cumberland line, and the 1870 census shows the three living with Alexander Trent, Sr, 83, Elizabeth, 68, and Alexander, Jr, 60 (no occupation) in Curdsville, with Buckingham Court House, VA for the address.2,3 He was the son of John Taylor Gray and Julia Randolph Trent. Alexander Trent Gray I died 10 January 1961, in Farmville, Prince Edward County, Virginia at age 91 years, 7 months and 23 days4 and was buried on 11 January 1961 Westwood Cemetery, Farmville, Prince Edward County, Virginia.4
