Imogene Reed was born in April 1875 Idaho.1,2 She was the daughter of Calvin Mattison Reed and Charlotte Ellen Parks.1 Emma and George Chester Johnson were married before 2 December 1898 Oregon "Mrs G C Johnson, of Portland, visited her sister, Mrs. Edwin Palmer, a couple of weeks recently."
Lebanon Express, 2 Dec 1898.3 Emma and George were divorced circa 1925. Imogene Reed died 5 November 1934, in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon at age 59 years and 7 months.4
She has been called Emma She was always "Emma" or "Aunt Emma" to the members of the family.5 As of 1898, her married name was Johnson (Reed). In 1898, Imogene Reedresided Portland, Oregon.1
During happier times, Emma was noted in the Society Section of the Oregonian, including this item:
Mrs George C Johnson of 1184 Taggart street delightfully entertained at a luncheon on Thursday. Covers were laid for 13 guests.
The home and table decorations were most artistic, the emblems of St. Patrick's day being used cleverly. After luncheon "500" was played, the honors going to Mrs. W. H. Bathgate, Mrs. Gerald Johnson, Mrs. W. Menziee. Guests were: Mrs. M. E. Lee, Mrs. E W Kimble, Mrs. W H Bathgate, Mrs. J P Roberts, Mrs W Menzies, Mrs Edwin Palmer, Mrs Henry Derbyshire, Mrs. Gerald Johnson, Mrs Hugh Ham, Mrs. Julia Hickman, MRs. C Ray Beckley.

Imogene was also interested in Oregon History, as noted in an article in teh Capital Journal in 1927. "A committee from the Arizona Pioneer association to represent the organization at the 'State's Shrine' has been named...to include...Imogene Reed Johnson..."
