     Marion Walter Palmer was born on 16 November 1916 Marion County, Oregon. He was the son of Ernest Stephen Palmer and Alma Grace S Ruble. Marion and Beth Elaine Sypher were married 31 July 1937. Marion Walter Palmer died 1 April 2004, in Salem, Marion County, Oregon at age 87 years, 4 months and 16 days.

Marion was born and raised in Silverton. He married Beth Sypher on July 31, 1937. In 1961 they moved to Salem. Marion worked for Mobil Oil and then was a salesman for Stewart Warner for 20 years, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include his wife Beth; daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Charles Barrows of Portland; sister, Barbara Jeanne Palmer of Portland; grandson and wife, Richard and Susan Barrows of Battleground, Wash; granddaughter and husband, Brenda and William Fox of Portland; great grandchildren, Katie and Charles Barrows of Battleground, and Corbett and Alexandra Fox of Portland.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 12, at Miller Cemetery in Silverton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Salem.

11 April 2004, Portland Oregonian and was buried Miller Cemetery, Marion County, Oregon.
     He served beginning 25 May 1945, enlisting at Fort Lewis, Washington. Marion and Beth had Victoria children.
