     Horatio Nixon Palmer Jr. was born before March 1884  Tucson, Pima County, Arizona Territory, "8 Mar 1884 - 'The infant son of Nixon Palmer is dangerously ill. Both mother and father are in San Francisco. The child is in the care of their nurse in this city." 
A picture, taken in Tucson, A.T., ca 1885, reads "H. N. Palmer, Jr., 8 months" and is inscribed to "Little Nettie". "Little Nettie" is probably Nettie (Palmer) Boyd, Nick's niece, who was about four years old at the time. This portrait was in an album owned by Nellie (Palmer) Dunford, Nettie's sister, and not yet born.1,2 He was the son of Horatio Nixon Palmer and Eleanor Elizabeth McGrath. Horatio Nixon Palmer Jr. died December 1885, in Guazapares, Chihuahua, while traveling with his mother, father, and half-brother from El Paso, Texas to Guazapares, Mexico, where father Nick was a millman at the Carmen mine.3
