     Hiram Palmer Fentem was born on 25 July 1891  Newman, Stanislaus County, California. He was the son of Richard Burton Fentem and Susan Ellen Clare. Hiram and Rosa Belle Hamilton were married 4 May 1918  Stanislaus County, California.1 Hiram Palmer Fentem and Rosa Belle Hamilton were divorced before March 1932.2 Hiram and Florence E Pierce were married 29 March 1932  Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, Modesto News-Herald (Modesto, California)
Coming as a complete surprise to friends and relatives was the annuncement of the marriage of Hiram P. Fentem and Florence E. Hales on March 29 at Tijuana, Mexico.
Fentem is the son of Mr. and ,Mrs. R. B. Fentem of Gustine, formerly of Newman, and Mrs. Fentem is the daughter of J. T. Pierce of the Cottonwood district. Both are well known in the community, having lived here most of their lives. Both are graduates of the local schools. They will make their home at the Lenora Stock Farm after March 1.

Hyde P. Fentem, 42, well-known resident of the Wes Side and foreman of the Lenorra Stock Farm, four miles west of Gustine, for the past five years, died in a newman hospital sunday night shortly after drinking strychine in what authorities said was a suicide.
Fentem is reported to have gone into the kitchen of his home and told his wife he had taken poison. He held an empty glass in his hand.
"My life has been a failure. Tell me good bye," he is quoted as saying.
Mrs. Fentem thought her husband was fooling, but called other ranch employes when Fentem started for the barn. Dr. A. W. Gustafson was called and Fentem was taken to the hospital, where he died fifteen minutes later.
Fentem was born near Newman and had spent all his life on the West Side.
Beside his widow, Mrs. Florence Fentem, he leaves a daughter, Virginia, of Los Angeles; his mother, Mrs. R. B. Fentem of Gustine; two brothers, Roy Fentem of Modesto and Ben Fentem of Livingston, and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Mohr of Turlock and Mrs. Ed Hansen of Gustine.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Davis Funeral Chapel of Newman.
