     Joseph Fuqua was the son of Gills Fuquett and Anne Ayre/Eyre. Joseph Fuqua married Anna Sampson, daughter of Francis Samson.2 Joseph Fuqua died after 28 October 1782 , per indenture dividing his property among his sons and daughters, signed this date.

Jacob McGehee, daughters of Joseph. "in consideration that the said Joseph
Fuqua is now advanced in age and for some time past infirm so as not to be
able to look after his own business," slaves to be held in trust for his
children, Rec 18 Oct 1782.

From records of Prince Edward Co, VA dated 1795, two interesting deeds,
both to James Watt; one from Fuqua Beasley and one from Hiram Beazley, sons
of John Beazley who married Bridget Fuqua. On the Fuqua Beazley deed it
says that this land was given to him by the will of his father,John Beazley
and sold by Fuqua Beazley to his mother, Bridget Beazley, now deceased and
conveyed back to Fuqua Beazley by his mother's will.
