     Ida V Saunders was born in July 1847 Virginia. She was the daughter of Alfred E. Saunders and Martha Collins Berger. Ida and David Starn Graves, son of William Graves and Lucy Berger, were married 29 September 1862 Caswell County, North Carolina, "Cousin Lucy died first, and cousin David married again. His second wife was his cousin Ida Saunders. He died before Ida did, and she became the wife of cousin Samuel S. Nowlin."

On the Marriage bond were Bondsman, FLW (FSW) Graves and the witness was Thomas W Graves. Thomas W Graves was also the clerk of the court.

His brother Thomas was in Arizona by this time.1,2 Ida and Samuel Sherod Nowlin, son of Rev. David William Nowlin and Elizabeth J Berger, were married 18 October 1880 Lincoln County, Missouri, This is to certify that on the 18th day of Oct 1880 in Lincoln County, Mo I united in marriage Mr. Samuel S. Nowlin of Montgomery County Missouri and Mrs Ida V. Graves of Pittsylvania County Va

     Ida had 4 children, according to the 1900 census of Haytokah, Nottoway County, Virginia. The household includes Ida V Nowlin, mother-in-law to Thomas Berger, (she has had four children, two living). In the household are also Rosa M, wife of Thomas Berger, b Apr 1867, married 15 years, mother of eight children, two living (Paul, b Nov 1889 in Indian Territory, and Virginia L, b Nov 1898, in Virginia). and Ella L Graves, sister-in-law..4
