     Royal Brown Trent was born in June 1860 Tennessee. He was the son of William Clough Trent and Mary Virgin Bonner. Royal Brown Trent died 11 December 1932 , in Columbus, Luna County, New Mexico at age 72.

R. B. Trent of Columbus, 72, was burned to death Monday as he was working on his car. No one knows just how the accident occurred. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Columbus, burial being made in the Columbus cemetery.

Deceased had for years resided in this section. He was a railroad for 50 years before he retired on a pension two years ago.

Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Davy and Miss Jewel Trent, El Paso, and one son in Oakland, California.
      From the 18 June 1884 newspaper in Somerville:

"Mr. Royal B. Trent is back on a visit to his home folks, after an absence of nearly two years. He arrived sunday evening and will remain several days yet. He is looking well and his friends are all pleased to greet him again. Royal is in the employ of the W. U. Telegraph Company and has charge of an office on the Memphis and Kansas City Road, about 35 miles out from Memphis. He expects, however, to go further west next month. His brother R. H. Trent came out with him Sunday but returned to Memphis Monday morning."
He appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of William Clough Trent and Mary Virgin Bonner West Street, Somerville, Fayette County, Tennessee; According to the 1880 census of District 17, Somerville, Fayette, Tennessee, the family of W C and Mary V Trent lived on West Street.

W C was a Livery Keeper. Mary V is keeping house.

Royal, 20, at home
Lucy, 16, at school
Richard, 13 [or 15] at school
Mary 9 at school.

It is clearly West Street -- not Depot Street.
