     Bettie C Trent was born circa 1856 Tennessee.1 She was said to have been born This date comes from a Rosser document, giving life information for Betty. However, she was 13 on the 1870 census, and 24 on the 1880. This would give her a birth year of 1856 or 57. on 20 September 1850 Tennessee.2 She was the daughter of William Clough Trent and Mary Virgin Bonner.       Bettie is shown on the census as a teacher, and there are a couple of interesting articles about her in the local paper.

"Miss Bettie Trent spent Saturday and Sunday at home and returned to Gallaway Monday. Her visits home are greatly enjoyed by her friends who are numerous and by whom she is highly esteemed."

" Misses Lizzie Shelton, Jennie Pettit, Lucy Trent, Lizzie D[ ] and Messrs H. C. Shelton and T W Newbern went to the country Friday on a visit to Mrs. S. G. Carnes. Messrs Shelton and Newbern and the two last named young ladies returned yesterday."3 She appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of William Clough Trent and Mary Virgin Bonner West Street, Somerville, Fayette County, Tennessee; According to the 1880 census of District 17, Somerville, Fayette, Tennessee, the family of W C and Mary V Trent lived on West Street.

W C was a Livery Keeper. Mary V is keeping house.

Lucy, 16, at school

It is clearly West Street -- not Depot Street.
