     Rachel Povall was born circa 1738/39 Cumberland County, Virginia. 15 Nov 1738/39 is an unproven alternate date. She was the daughter of Richard Povall and (--?--) (--?--). Rachel and Henry Clay, son of Henry Clay and Lucy Green, were married 9 April 1753 Cumberland County, Virginia.1,2 Rachel Povall died 27 June 1820 , Bourbon County, Kentucky, according to her tombstone and was buried Clay Family Cemetery, near Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky. off the Escondida Road, east of the railroad tracks.3
     As of 9 April 1753, her married name was Clay (Povall).
