Ida May Patterson

     Ida and John Gilbert Maddock, son of Franklin K. Maddock and Lucy Jane Palmer, were married 31 January 1888.
     As of 31 January 1888, her married name was Maddock (Patterson). As of 9 January 1920, her married name was Smith (Patterson) Maddock.

Mrs. John Maddock left this week for Portland, where she will make her home in the future. She shipped household effects and will reside in her home recently purchased in that city.

Word has been received that Mrs. May Maddock, a former Goldendale resident, now visiting with Mrs. Geo. W. Kolbe, in Chicago, Ill., was suddenly stricken with appendicitis. She was taken to Lake view Hospital in that city where she was operated upon a week ago Sunday. The appendix was found to be badly affected, as was the gall bladder, which contained several gall stones. The operation was entierely successful and Mrs. Maddock is doing very well for so serious an operation. Mrs. Maddock is the wife of the late Gilbert Maddock, and has many local friends who will be glad to hear that she is recovering from her illness.

Mrs John Maddock returned to her ranch at Wakiakus last week. Mrs. Maddock has been in the East for over a year visiting friends and relatives.

Mrs. John Maddock came up from her home in Wahkaicus Tuesday for a few days' visit with N B Brooks and wife. Mrs. Maddock has traded her property at Wahkaicus for business property in Portland. She will move to Portland soon.
