#593, b. 25 June 1828
Father*Burton Palmer1 b. 12 Mar 1788, d. 9 Mar 1858
Mother*Rebecca Bruce1 b. 6 Oct 1792, d. 2 Mar 1846
Mary B Palmer was born on 25 June 1828 Garrard County, Kentucky.1 She was the daughter of Burton Palmer and Rebecca Bruce.1 Mary B Palmer married Daniel A Clare 14 October 1847 Lincoln County, Missouri.1
As of 14 October 1847,her married name was Clare (Palmer).

(Note from Bruce King on the Clare Genealogy Forum)
“Daniel A. Clare, who married Mary B. Palmer, was a son of Allen Clare and Leah Foley. Allen Clare's brother, Daniel Clare, married Jane Hansford. Allen and Daniel were the two Clare brothers who went to Lincoln County, Missouri. Daniel went to Lincoln County in 1830. Allen followed in 1834. Allen's son, Daniel A. Clare, was born about 1812 in Kentucky, possibly Pulaski County, where Allen and his brother Daniel lived before moving to Lincoln County, Missouri.

Daniel A. Clare and Mary B. Palmer had a daughter, Clara Ellen Clare, who married Zachariah Gouch Jameson, son of William Jameson and Mahala Bruce. In the 1900 census, Mary B. (Palmer) Clare was widowed, living with Zachariah and Clara in Merced County, California. Mary appeared in the Jameson household again in 1910 in San Jose, California, but she is nowhere to be seen in 1920, so she probably died between those census years.”

(I don’t think the daughter was Clara Ellen Clare. I think she was “Ellen E” or “Ellen M” and used the name “Clara” after her marriage)

OK, Zach (Z T) is on the 1870 census of Merced, wife Hannah, 35, Emelie J, 15, Susan, 9, James L, 7, Wm J, 5. Z T is a wool grower, b Missouri, Hannah b Ohio, Emelie b Indiana, Susan, James L, and William b Missouri.
1880 has Z G, 46, Hannah, 46, James, 17, and William, 15 in Merced.
In 1880, Ellen E is 20, living with Daniel 68, and Mary B, 56, in Madison, Polk co., MO.
In 1900, Zachariah G (b Dec 1833) age 66, m11 years, b MO, f & m b Ky (Ohio on other censuses) and Clara E, wife, (b Aug 1858) age 41, married 11 years (ca 1889), no children. Mary B is living in the household.
Also in the household is Mildred L Rodrick, 35, sister in law, and Clara F Rodrick, 13, niece.
We find a Stephen A Rodrick, b ca 1860 in Illinois, in Madison, Polk County, Missouri, in 1870. Interesting that Mildred’s family, not found in 1870, is in Polk County in 1880.

In 1910, they are in San Jose, Santa Clara County. Zach is 75, m2, 21 years, MO, KY, KY; Clara E is 51, m1, 21, 0/0, MO KY KY; Mary B Clare is 81, widowed, six children, three living.

In 1920, Zachariah G and (now) Ellen 86 and 61, are still in San Jose. With them is Mildred S Rodrick, Sister in law, 54, widowed.

The 1860, Millwood, Lincoln County, MO., census has the following:
Daniel A Clare, 45
Mary B, 32
Rebeca J, 14
Burton H, 12
Ellen M, 2

The 1880, Madison, Polk County has:
Daniel A Clare 68
Mary B, 56
Ellen E, 20
Francis S, 18
Mildred, 15

We find Mildred again, in the 1930 census of San Jose, Santa Clara County, California. The house has two families,
Z G Jamison, 96, first married at 21
Clara, wife H, 72, first married at 35
And
Rodrick, Mildred, head, 64, widowed
George H Palmer, grandson, 20
Richard Bisdrof, 23, roomer
Henry Lane, 58, roomer
Frank Clare, 68, roomer

Was Mary B married previous to the marriage to Daniel Clare? This marriage certificate would indicate such.
State of Missouri
County of Lincoln
August 21th? 1855 Daniel A Clare and Mary B Suddarth personally appeared before me in presents of witnesses and I solemnized the rite of matrimony between them. Given under my hand this the 29th day of Oct 1855. George Rice, M G
Filed for record 29th Oct 1855.

If Mary was previously married, were Rebecca J (b ca 1846) and Burton H (b ca 1848) children of this marriage? Explains the distance between Burton and Ellen.
There is a John Suddeth (24, b Virginia) and Bridget (b 1828 Missouri) in the 1850 census. There is a child, William, 2. (matches Burton, b 1848, but there is no Rebecca.)
This family is in District 49, which has several Palmer and Clare/Clair families.
