The James Palmer, executor of the will, was likely James Palmer (who married Sophia Bruce), son of Nixon Palmer, as there were no other "James Palmer" males of appropriate age in Garrard County. James Palmer later married Nancy Jefferson in Garrard County in 1828.1
John Palmer and wife Lydia, of Garrard County, Kentucky, had sons named Nixon, b ca 1806, and John. Although there is no "proof" as yet that these are related to John Palmer of Buckingham County, we will go with this line until it is proven, or, take it out if disproved.
