Eleanor Elizabeth McGrath married Horatio Nixon Palmer, son of John Henry Palmer and Catherine Nowlin Graves, 7 November 1883 San Bernardino, California,

     As of 1883, her married name was Palmer
She was known as Eleanor Palmer in Prescott, and son "Gussie" was known as "Gussie Peters Palmer." Her portrait, taken in San Francisco, is inscribed: "Compliments of Mrs H N Palmer."3 She left a will filed on 14 June 1894

According to the Prescott Journal Miner paper, dated June 15, 1894:
“The will of the late Mrs. Eleanor Palmer was filed for record in the Probate Judge’s office yesterday. She bequeathed her entire possessions, excepting some stock in the Virginia Gold Mining Company, to her sister, Johanna Lucy McGrath, better known as Lucy Cook. The mining stock was left to her husband.”

In the name of God, Amen. I, Eleanor Elizabeth Palmer, wife of H. N. Palmer, of Prescott, in the County of Yavapai and the Territory of Arizona, being of sound and disposing mind and memory and over the age of twenty-one years, and knowing the uncertainty of life and not acting under fraud, menace or undue influence of anyone whomsoever do hereby make, publish and declare these presents as and for my last will and testament in items and manner following:

Item 1. I desire that my funeral expenses and all just debts be first paid.
Item 2. I will, bequeath and divise my sewing machine, seal skin cloak and all my wearing apparel to my sister Johanna Lucy McGrath, known here in Prescott, Arizona, as Josie Cook, now of Fremont, El Paso County Colorado.
