#944, b. 20 October 1890, d. 28 March 1969
Claus A. Messing was born on 20 October 1890 Mist, Columbia County, Oregon. He married Anna Palmer, daughter of Edwin Palmer and Mary Alvina Reed, circa 1913. Claus A. Messing died 28 March 1969 , in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon at age 78, Parkinson's Disease.2
Apparently Claus, Emil, and Alma were orphaned, as there are guardianship papers for them in the Oregon Archives, case #0299. In the 1900 census the children are separated and living with different families.

Additinally, there is an estate, dated 1895, for Charles E. Messing, also in Columbia County. Claus and Anna had two children, Ruth and Lois.
