George Peyton Harber, 94, of Albany died Thursday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.
He was born in Albany to George Henry and Edith (Glover) Harber.
He lived in Albany most of his life and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in engineering.
He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and after the war. He retired as a lieutenant colonel.
Mr. Harber opened Harber Engineering Works on the family homestead in Albany and worked there for several years.
He is survived by nephews Ted Harber of Waldport and Ron Harber of Ft. Collins, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his brother William G. Harber.
Military services will be held later. Private burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
